London Style News: Fragrance Obssesion

This week I am obsessed about fragrances and it is only fair that I let you all into my gorgeously smelly world. You know the deal with scents, right?

It’s amazing how different smells can remind you of places, people and moments in your past. Right?

Every time I smell apple tea it takes me back 20 years, I am sitting on a boat somewhere near Turkey and my grandparents are drinking apple tea. Aveda’s purple shampoo takes me back to having white blonde hair when I was in my 20’s. The newest addition to my “smell memory” is Hermes Terre d’Hermes which is worn on occasions by the man in my life. It floors me every time, takes me back into his arms.

Really, is no wonder that I spray it on my tanktop when I go to sleep when he is away for business. This week I am obsessed about fragrances and it is only fair that I let you all in to my gorgeously smelly world. You know the deal with scents, right?

Really is no wonder that I spray it on my tank top when I go to sleep when he is away for business. He does not know this, so be quiet! This week I have picked my three favourite scents (at the moment at least, flaky as ever).

Aveda, Chakra 1 The first one isn’t really a fragrance, but I thought I should introduce you all to Aveda’s Chakra Series. As we all know, there are seven chakras in the body all of which play a significant part in the way we feel and are. I don’t understand any of this as not that spiritual. However, the least I can do is to feel a little balanced at times. I have tried most of the products and so far my favourite remains the Chakra 1. “Chakra 1 is the centre where we ground ourselves and take care of our basic needs. When the root chakra is balanced, one has good energy, a feeling of security and a healthy body awareness”. This body spray smells amaze and I have to admit, it does work. I use it when feeling especially over worked and spinning like no tomorrow. It calms me down. Sorted.

Jo Malone, Vetyver

Its spring time in London, FINALLY. After a very grey and wet winter we have been having sunshine and warmth for the last week. So, it was about time I switched away from my winter scent to more spring appropriate one. I couldn’t go all the way to my summer version yet, so Vetyver by Jo Malone is perfect. It smells divine. Its built around bergamot, nutmeg and cedarwood. Three of my favorites notes when it comes to fragrances. Really no wonder I like this one so much. On a days I feel particularly adventurous, I spray on this with little Grapefruit from Jo Malone as well. Mix and match. That’s how you create your own perfect scent.

 Diptyque, Philosykos

As you may have gathered I do switch scents as the season go by. However, there is one fragrances that remains on my top spot, be it rainy in the fall, sunny in the spring or freezing cold in the winter. Diptyque, Philosykos has become my signature scent without a doubt. If I could only wear one scent for the rest of my life, this would be it. It’s like sunshine on my skin on a Greek island. I should really not be telling you all this as I truly enjoy smelling unique. Not often does someone walk past and I smell figs. Its special, its mine and I love it.
